This clear, pale straw colored ale is cold fermented for subtlety, as is the tradition in Köln (Cologne) Germany. The aroma is a subdued blend of graininess from the Pilsner malt, a smidge of floral noble hop character, and hints of apple and pear from the yeast. On the palate the cereal grains come through, but the bright noble hop character is more pronounced, and it finishes clean with just enough bitterness to remind you it’s a beer.
