Our History

Yergey Brewing began as a “retirement project” for owner Jim Yergey, and opened at their original site in September of 2106. The nano-brewery and taproom were situated in the same small room that seated 35 customers and was nestled next to the train tracks in Emmaus, a few blocks from the current site at 235 Main Street. It was cozy, but with no room for additional production capacity, it was impossible to provide the breadth of beer selection that we wanted, or the space for customers, including a comfortable and appealing outdoor seating space. In 2021, we purchased, renovated and opened our new location, with more than double the production capacity. While we still brew small batches of beer, we strive to always have a wide variety of beer styles, often with 14 different styles on tap, along with local mead, cider, cocktail and wine offerings. The extra capacity has allowed us to brew lagers year round, even though they require significantly more time to produce. We now offer over 100 seats inside, inviting outdoor spaces along the main street of Emmaus and a beautiful view of a mural of all things Emmaus. There is a covered tent that is heated in the colder months and is great for hosting large groups with yard games in warmer weather. We continue to provide a comfortable space for customers to enjoy their beverages, as well as food from rotating local food trucks. We decided to continue using food trucks to provide variety for our customers, and work with other locally owned businesses; we currently rotate through over 50 different food trucks, all of whom serve right outside the taproom.
